Huawei had an event today where they launched the Pocket S foldable, the cheapest clamshell foldable smartphone currently on the market. It’s like a cheaper version of the P50 Pocket which was launched late last year.
The new device has a 6.9-inch foldable OLED display, a resolution of 2,790 x 1,188 pixels, and a 120Hz refresh rate. it also offers 10-bit colors. There is also a round 1.04-inch display at the back of the device. The selfie camera is a 10.7 MP shooter housed in a hole punch at the top of the screen.
The Huawei Pocket S comes with a Snapdragon 778G processor, aided by 8GB and 128GB/256GB/512GB of RAM and internal storage. It features a flexible graphite heat dissipation system to help with overheating. Harmony OS 3 covers the software of this device.
Turning to the back of the Pocket S, you are greeted with a dual main camera setup comprising a 40 MP main camera sensor and a 13 MP ultra-wide camera. this combination makes up for the great normal and wide-angle shots taken with this clamshell foldable.
For your daily dose of power, you get a 4000 mAh battery which supports 40W fast charging. The foldable phone is offered in Obsidian Black, Frost Silver, Mint Green, Sakura Pink, Primrose Gold, and Ice Crystal Blue.
The Huawei Pocket S has starting prices of CNY 5,988 ($822) for the 128GB unit, CNY 6,488 ($890) if you want one with 256GB storage, while the 512GB unit is priced at CNY 7,488 ($1,028). All sales will begin on the 10th of November.
