The Odyssey Ark Can Take your Gaming experience to the Next Level

Samsung has just launched what i call the ultra gaming monitor which they named ” Odyssey Ark”. The monitor is sized at an enormous 55-inches, which is a large as four 22.5″ monitors, so you can kiss those your multiple gaming or editing screens goodbye.

The Odyssey Ark is a curved, 4K monitor which has a 1000R curvature, which makes this the world’s first 55-inches monitor to have 4K resolution .

It has a resolution of 3,840 x 2,160px for the standard 16:9 aspect ratio. the monitor also has a 165Hz refresh rate. The screen itself is a Quantum mini LED panel which has a peak brightness of 2000 nits, and produces great visual quality.

The sound quality is another amazing thing to talk about as Samsung has equipped the Odyssey Ark with four speakers on each corner, and two woofers at the bottom, making it six speakers for an exquisite, immersive experience when gaming, plus it supports Dolby Atmos audio.

The Odyssey Ark includes some extra features such as support for AMD FreeSync Premium Pro for variable refresh rate, so as to make your gaming console experience smooth. Samsung has given the monitor a “cockpit mode” which is the ability to rotate the monitor into a vertical/portrait position (the image above).

Flex Move screen give you the ability to adjust the size of what you are viewing, if you don’t want it in full screen. You also get a multi-monitor mode with the Odyssey Ark, which allows the large screen to be divided into four different screens (in landscape), or three different screens (portrait mode) thanks to the four available HDMI port chucked into this thing.

Samsung’s Gaming Hub, which comes with the monitor, supports multiple game streaming platforms like NVIDIA GeForce Now, Xbox Cloud Gaming and Google Stadia. A Game bar is also present, just for you to check that your frame rate, refresh rate etc are in order.

This monitor also comes with two solar powered remotes. One of them is just your regular TV remote, while the other is the wireless Ark dial, which lets you change video settings, adjust the volume and switch between the monitor’s special display modes.

The Odyssey Ark is currently on pre-order , and it comes at a price of $3,500 which is quite a lot of money, but you sure are getting what you paid for.
